Transportation as one of the infrastructure components plays a crucial role in the sustainable development as well as achieving goals of economic, social, and cultural development.

The Islamic Republic of Iran's railways (RAI) currently has 13,000 km standard rail network and 9,500 km are under construction. In this respect, the construction of some lines has been started yet and needs participation and investment by the national and international individual sectors. Iran's Vision Policy's aim is to stretch out the nationwide railroad line to 25,000 km.

RAIL EXPO will be organized for the 8th time in 2020 by the support of the Ministry of Roads & Urban Development, Ministry of Industry, Mine & Trade and participation of Iran Railways, Tehran and Metropolitan Subways, Iran Rail Inudstry Association, RTC Guild, thehe School of Railway Engineering (SRE) and further experts from the rail industry.
